Strada Easel 30 Day Challenge 2024 – Through the month of September, I painted every day and posted my work to social media; no matter how tired I was and no matter how poor the work turned out. I grew so much and highly recommend this challenge to other artists.

Spring 2024

This Spring I completed a custom expressionist totem for my friend, Yuliya! This beautiful and complex artwork is painted on her study wall.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of the creation was the balance of intentionality and fluidity that Yuliya invoked while traversing the commission process.

Mostly acrylic, the base was set by mixing gesso and moldavite from Yuliya’s private collection, along with rose quartz from my own. Yuliya blended them by using a mortar and pestle, which supported the fundamental nature of our collaboration in creating something distinct and representative of her individual essence. We also agreed upon a bright color palette to invoke elements for highest integration.
Despite the planning and discussion, she remained committed to trust throughout the process which only enhanced the experiential benefit of this commission for both of us.
I couldn’t be more delighted and grateful for the finished result.
The artwork took about four months to complete over several sessions visiting her house. Cheers to many more adventures exploring this unique and enlivened expression.

The Project at OmFLOAT
Winter 2021

Visit OmFLOAT in Ashburn, VA to see the stunning mural and mandala I created. This project, completed on New Year’s Day 2022, was one of my biggest personal accomplishments yet and I had a blast working on it!
OmFLOAT owners Amy and Brooks came to me seeking artistic direction for their brand and to create an inspiring space for their float tank clients. The project consisted of a unique Mandala, an OmFLOAT ensō behind the intake desk, and a fluid mural that extends throughout the waiting room and entry hall. I designed a dynamic wave that takes advantage of the layers of the passageway, creating a captivating experience for clients as they move through the hallways.
To showcase their beautiful space, we hired a professional photographer to capture lifestyle images and a 3D reproduction of their shop to accompany the content I wrote for their website. In addition to the creative work, I also helped Amy and Brooks update their publications by using Asana to track workflow and ensure everything was ready by their target date.
This project allowed me to enjoy creative freedom while also honing my project management skills. It was also a bonding experience for my partner, Leo, who helped me with the murals. The enormous mandala at OmFLOAT is completely unique to Northern Virginia and definitely worth a visit!
Check out my work on their website or stop by in person to see it for yourself.
